Padua College

The UQ Sport Academy works with schools to help identify sporting talent. For two consecutive years the UQSA has visited Padua College, trying to uncover the next sporting superstar. We've put our Talent ID program through it's paces, and regularly run up to 180 Padua students through its rigorous tests to identify elite talent.
Testing included activities such as a vertical jump (lower body power), bench pulls (upper body endurance), 40m sprint (acceleration, speed and power) and the beep test (endurance). The eight tests take a total of two hours.
The testing's aim is to identify sporting talent, and schools can use this information for placing their students into sports where their talents can provide the greatest contribution.
“We have been able to identify a number of athletes that have excelled in our cross country and athletics carnival.
